ok, I checked downstairs. The colored pencils I had were prismacolors so no need to buy It's a box of 60 called inspiration. I just tried it out on my black sketchbook paper. But I have NO idea how you managed to get to vibrant colours, cause all mine do is stay dull. Paper I'm using is strathmore Artagain,* rich black paper ideally suited for soft pastels and charcoal*. Ah. hmm I see. that's not pencils. What type of paper should I get to get the best effects then?
I use a white semi-rough surfaced paper, such as a Strathmore pad. Also, have luck with matte board scraps. I found this nice selection of "textured" card stock at Michaels. This black paper gives you vibrant colors, and the shading is so smooth. Have you looked at a few of my drawings? have fun, OH, get yourself an electric sharpener!!!
well, you know what.. merpa's always going on about her prismacolors.. now you.. I think I should go get some and try. I haven't done that at all though, only painted with acrylics, and now been using white pigment ink over acrylics. No pencils yet. Don't know what I'd do with it yet, but it starts to sound yummy
It's because they blend so well together. I love to oil paint, too, but the prismas are rockin' cool. There are 120 different colors, I bought mine with a discount. I forgot to tell you dears that ebay has some good deals. Prismas are not cheap, 'bout $2.00 each in Michaels or Hobby Lobby. You need to find a good deal. They are stunning to work with, worth the investment!
